So if you haven’t figured it out by now, I love love love raw chocolate and I loooooove cinnamon. I pretty much put them in everything! Well, maybe not the raw chocolate, but the cinnamon usually doesn’t get left behind in many dishes I make. I’m a huge fan of cinnamon not only because it adds so much aroma and flavor to food but just as importantly because of it’s blood sugar balancing properties.
You know that feeling you get mid-morning when you you’re hungry and you’re in the middle of a meeting, can’t focus and want to bite the person’s ear off sitting next to you just because? That’s low blood sugar! Also known as hypoglycemia, low blood sugar affects thousands of people, especially when we haven’t eaten breakfast, skip meals throughout the day or adhere to a low calorie diet.
And then one thing leads to the other, and suddenly its mid-morning and we’re rummaging through our office drawers looking for left over mini chocolate bars from Halloween! Can’t say I’ve ever been guilty of that and I don’t know any awesome past co-workers who would either!
Besides eating breakfast every day and consuming at least 3 regularly timed or 4-5 smaller balanced meals a day, adding cinnamon to your diet is a super simple and natural way to enhance blood sugar regulation. Check out this super easy, yet super yummy dessert/snack below topped off with what else but cinnamon!
