As I’ve been cruising FB this week, I have seen a lot of people talking about making cookies. One of my friends even posted a pic of her and her daughter making sugar cookies. My mom and I used to make tons of sugar cookies together. I still have the cookie cutters we used. I went looking for her recipe, but stumbled upon this one instead. READ MORE
This morning, millions and millions of women got up and put on a bra! I personally find bras incredibly uncomfortable. The first thing I do when I walk through the door when I get home from work is take mine off! And truth be told, sometimes it gets taken off in the car BEFORE I drive home from work! READ MORE
The love of my life, Mark Guarini, created the Mighty Muffin several years ago. Everyone loves them! Recently I was asked for a vegan version to feature on a health show. Mark and I didn’t think this was possible. One evening, I made a vegan ‘egg substitute’ (aka chia seeds soaked in water). READ MORE
I made these out of a desire for something tangy, refreshing and light. I was not disappointed! I even added a little bit of honey!
You can make these without sugar and they will be delicious or you can sweeten them just a touch if that’s what you prefer. Always test your batter before you bake! READ MORE
Ginger is one of my new favourite ingredients to cook with. My love affair with ginger wasn’t always bliss, I actually never liked ginger until just a few months ago and now I just can’t get enough. I never liked the “clean” taste, but now I find it “oh so refreshing”. It is a great pick me up and adds some intense flavour to my morning smoothies. It also adds a little pow of flavour to pretty much any dish I make, especially salad dressings. Ginger is more than just a tasty root, it is a superfood. It has many amazing health benefits, which is just one more reason I love it.

Most people probably think of honey and beeswax when they think of bees. Personally, I always think about summer, pears and bee stings. When I was younger I hated bees because every single summer I was stung by a bee while on my grandparents farm. It always happened while I was picking pears fresh off the tree. My grandma would say: “You’re fine”, pick me up and say, “lets go make you a mud pack”. And just like that she had mixed up some dirt and water and slapped it on the spot where I was stung. Amazingly it worked, it took the sting away almost immediately. I managed to get through every summer with just one or two bee stings.

My housemate and I had a little Christmas movie marathon last Christmas, which inspired me to make these delicious recipes – Tomato Soup and Pumpkin cheddar Biscuits!
We watched Elf, The Holiday and Family Stone.
Awesomeness abounds! It was so fun! While we watched, I got my cook on and whipped up some incredible tomato soup! I have never made tomato soup from scratch before. When I was living at home, we always had the Campbell’s canned tomato soup…gross! This tasted just like it, but fresher and more delicious! The cheddar biscuits went along so well that it felt like eating total comfort food! READ MORE
