Make your own electrolyte drink! Tired of spending $3 on a sports drink that is really a bottle of sugar water with some funky florescent colour? Why not make your own! This recipe is simple to make, tastes great, is cost effective and fuels your body for your endurance training session of 90 minutes or longer, or your intensity workouts. 





Lemon-Lime Sports Drink

Ingredients:

1 lemon, squeezed fresh
1 lime, squeezed fresh
3 tbsp maple syrup or 2 tbsp honey
1/8 tsp sea salt
750 mL water

Instructions:

  1. Partially fill a large 1L water bottle with water, add lemon, lime, honey and sea salt.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Enjoy approximately 500-800mL of water per hour of exercise. Don’t like lemon/lime flavour? Then try a squeeze of orange.
