Raw Chocolate Chili Bombs Recipe

Makes: 8 Chili Bombs

Ingredients:

Base:

½ cup walnuts, raw
½ cup almonds, raw
1 cup pitted dates, soaked in cold water for 30 minutes
Dash Celtic or Himalayan sea salt
1-2 Thai red chillies, chopped
2 tbsp cacao powder or high quality unsweetened cocoa powder
½ tsp cinnamon

Frosting:

½ avocado, pitted
2-3 tbsp 100% pure maple syrup or honey
2 tbsp cocoa powder
4 dates (from above)
1-2 Thai red chillies

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor pulse chop walnuts & almonds until coarse crumbs are formed.
  2. Drain the dates and put 4 aside for the frosting.
  3. Add ½ the dates, the chillies (two chillies will make it HOT), cocoa powder and the cinnamon. Process 30 seconds. Add in the other ½ of the dates and the sea salt and process another 30 seconds or so, until it forms a sticky ball of dough.
  4. Blend the avocado, liquid sweetener of choice (add more if you prefer a sweeter chocolate), 4 dates, cocoa powder and chillies (again start small and add if you want more heat, you can’t take it away!) until very smooth. This may take a couple minutes.
  5. Roll all the dough into a large ball. It should be very mouldable. Break off golf-ball sized pieces and roll into a ball. Flatten the top gently and top with frosting. Garnish with a few slices of fresh chili if desired!
  6. Enjoy!
